ACIDD is a social enterprise with a social mission. ACIDD in Maryland provides mental health services and Intellectual Disability services to persons with ID and co-occurring mental illness. ACIDD takes an integrated care approach to support these individuals in the community.
As a mental health provider, ACIDD in Maryland focuses on various services to address mental health issues. Our services include Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), Mental Health Vocational Program (MHVP) aka Employment services (SE), psychotherapy, and most recently – an Integrated virtual Health Services system. PRP has been temporarily suspended due to the pandemic and will be revived in 2023.
ACIDD supports youth above 18 years and who are behaviorally challenged, for a period of 3 years until they turn 21. Besides providing residential services and support services, these youths attend school. They would learn community skills that make them socially responsible adults when they become adults. ACIDD prefers that they find independent living and be supported by another DDA provider when they turn 21.
As a licensed provider under the Maryland State Department of Health, ACIDD in Maryland is capable of providing developmental disability services. ACIDD prefers to support high-functioning dually diagnosed individuals in our residential homes, and day services. However, it chooses to be selective in our services in 2023 as part of its strategic plan and growth in services. ACIDD in Maryland also provides Personal Support services to those in need, medically fragile as well as behaviorally challenged, in their homes.
